Anyway, I haven't seen the newest film yet (WHAT!?!?! SHE DIDN'T GO TO THE MIDNIGHT SHOWING IN COSTUME!?!?!?!) mostly because I want to avoid the mass crowds. I've dealt with them before, dressed as Hermione, actually, and while it was fun, I had no desire to do that this time. Now, for the 2 installments of the 7th book, I might have to. I could dress Corey up as Draco.... and I guess I'd still go as Hermione... and that would be funny. I'm a Hermione/Ron fan all the way though.
Going on to my original point, that I never made, I was looking through a bunch of promo images from HBP and.... all of a sudden I recognized the background to one. Not just like "oh I've seen that before" it was "OMG I have a photo of that hallway from when I was staying in England." FREAK OUT!!! It's a promo image of Draco, with Snape behind him, and the background is this hallway with fan vaulting on the ceiling. It's the cloisters at Gloucester Cathedral!! I mean, I knew they filmed there, and it was a huge joke between all of us that the cloisters were "the Harry Potter hallway". Actually, the people who work at the cathedral call it that from time to time. XD Now I've realized that I won't be able to watch the films without going "I've been there!!" in a couple different locations. I was doing it on the flight home when I was watching HP5. Ouch. I'm such a nerd. Oh well.
Okay, yeah, so I always get on a Harry Potter kick when a new book comes out (which isn't going to happen any more) and when a new movie comes out. So... I'm on a Harry Potter kick, even though I haven't seen the new movie. But there's artwork coming along. I'm working on a Draco piece. I kind of feel sorry for him, even though he is a total git. It's just bad parents, or something.
Anyway, yeah, Corey and I were watching one of the films on TV and I was like "that's the dining hall in Oxford! That's the cloisters at Gloucester! I've been there! Oh!! And there!!" Suddenly the movies lost a bit of the Hogwarts magic... but they gained a different magic, like... the kind of magic you only feel when you realize you've been there, when you can imagine yourself in the films after seeing everything.... it changes things. At least for me. But I'm weird.
On a side note, I had the worst dream a couple nights ago. I was in Africa jumping over Victoria Falls and being all thrill-seekerish. But there were snakes hiding in the water and I was terrified to jump off the falls because I thought the snakes would get me. And then I jumped off and one grabbed my leg and I took my machete (which I hadn't had a second before) and cut its head off and then someone that I was with in this group of thrill-seekers told me that David Tennant had died. David Tennant dying totally makes the snakes look like nothing at all. And in the dream I was really upset because I was supposed to have met him a couple weeks after the escapade in Africa. On top of that he's not even 40 yet! Needless to say, I woke up freaked out and terrified that David Tennant had actually died. Who gives a crap about Michael Jackson. But David Tennant? He's not allowed to die until he's ancient.
So, anyone else excited about GIJoe: The Rise of Cobra? Christopher Eccleston (9th Doctor) is the villain.
I miss my cathedral. I miss Gloucester. I miss England.
